The first morning at court
Episode 1 begins in Harvest Court, a seven-day gathering. The queen sends her prettiest servant to dress the king, and she is in no hurry about it. The king, tired of his marriage, notices.
When she fumbles his ring, a noble snaps at her. The king cuts that off with a threat of his own. This is the first time anyone has stood up for her. When the queen summons him back to court, he tells her the court can wait, then asks when he can see the maid again. She answers that she turns his bed down at midnight.
Episode 2 stays at premise level: the kitchen servant is playing a longer game than one night.
A king, a queen and a maid
Faye Corin leads as the chambermaid, a Candy character, and the king and queen are Candy characters as well. All are adults. For another royal story, see Sworn to the Queen.
