A desert road and a motel with one room left drive I Picked Up a Hitchhiker, five CandyShorts parts, none of them past two minutes. Colette Ramsey, a Candy character, plays the traveler, and the heat level is Scorching.
From the road to the motel
Our driver has an old pickup and a quiet life. He does not expect a gorgeous woman at the roadside, and he is sure she will not climb in. She does, after one nervous joke about whether he is dangerous.
She tells him she left her boyfriend, make that ex, at a gas station fifty miles back. He is headed home, two hundred miles away. The sun is brutal, she is flushed and says she needs a shower, and he mentions a motel forty miles ahead.
At the desk there is one room left. He starts to suggest a plan, and she cuts in: that is fine. Episode 2 stays at premise level: the night starts there.
Two travelers
Colette Ramsey is an adult and a Candy character. The driver is an everyman, and the story rarely leaves the two of them. If you like road stories with a clock, Couples Therapy With Margot Vey is a good next stop.
