The rule of the flag
Candy Lane is a street where the husbands are gone for eight hours. The unwritten rule is simple: a flag up means the women of the house need a hand with something. The narrator is the plumber, and his first stop is Harriet, his brother's wife.
Her kitchen pipe is dripping again, and he is sure he tightened that fitting himself. The visit fills up with teasing, and it ends with Harriet inviting him to look after her as well as the sink.
Episode 2 follows the official premise: another house, another woman, and a different set of rules, with the plumber as the neighborhood's open secret.
The women of the street
Harriet, Holly, Kenzie, Mona, Regina and Renata are Candy characters, each written with her own appetite and her own limits. They are all adults. Harriet, as the brother's wife, is an adult in-law.
