A cancelled dinner starts Date With My Stepmom, a five-part CandyShorts story whose every part stays under two minutes. Nina, a Candy character, is the lead, and our heat label is Scorching.
The empty evening
Nina has the table set and a new dress on when her husband blows off dinner for work. She is annoyed, and she is not alone for long: Evan, her husband's son, comes through the door and finds her there.
He expected the couple to be out. She tells him it was cancelled, and that all the food is waiting at home, so it is just the two of them. Evan, an adult, knows he should not look at his dad's wife, and then says out loud what he was thinking, badly.
She catches the slip and does not let it go. Episode 2 is premise level: revenge on a husband who keeps standing her up is the only thing on the menu, and the secret only works if nobody finds out.
A small household
Nina is an adult and a Candy character. Evan is her husband's adult son, which makes them step relatives through the marriage only. A comparable setup is My One-Night Stand Is My Girlfriend's Mom.
