Check-in
The hotel is where the story lives. A stepmother argues by phone with her husband, who cancels on the trip and leaves her with her adult stepson, Jerry. A staff member mistakes Jerry for her partner, and neither corrects the error as quickly as they should.
Later she is still angry at her husband and leans on Jerry for comfort. Episode 2 turns on an apology, her reassurance, and a shared admission that this is wrong. They carry on regardless, and the episode ends on a question that raises the stakes.
The synopsis adds that the hotel encounters continue until the husband shows up without warning.
Stepmother and stepson
Diana Demont is a Candy character, and so is the rest of the cast. Both leads are adults, related by marriage rather than by blood. For a stepmother story in a different setting, try Snowed-In with Stepmom.
