The rescue and the new hire
Episode 1 opens with a cry for help from the water. Sophie pulls a swimmer out, coaches his breathing and tells him he follows directions well. He has no idea who she is, and she lets him know that it does not bother her.
Later she meets him again, introduced as the new cabana attendant, who is also the boss's nephew. The boss's wife welcomes him and offers to place him with the deck crew. Sophie steps in and says she will take him. The wife reminds her to stay professional, and Sophie answers that he will learn the ropes from her.
Episode 2 stays at premise level: the summer begins, and the lifeguard is the one setting the terms.
