The setup
It is Halloween. Riley comes downstairs in a costume that tells her mother's husband, Mark, everything he does not want to notice. He sends her back to change before her mother sees. Riley answers with a grin and reminds him that her mother is upstairs, hiding from the trick-or-treaters. Then she makes the first move.
Episode 2 opens with Mark saying out loud that this is wrong, and then admitting he wants it anyway. They agree to keep it secret. Riley jokes about how little attention her mother pays him, and the two move from talk to something closer. Spicy series stay at premise level here, and so do we.
