My Stepmom Is 22: 5 short episodes, each under two minutes, on CandyShorts. It stars Kyle and his stepmother Skye (Candy characters, no real-life twin) and sits at Scorching on our heat scale.
One house, one summer
Kyle meets his father's new wife Skye right after the wedding. She is 22, easygoing and quick with a compliment. His dad then announces he will be away all summer and asks Kyle to look after her.
The first episode is mostly about the house: a bathroom door that does not close, a lot of teasing and a clear line Kyle is told not to cross. In episode 2 Skye's best friend comes to stay, and the line becomes harder to hold.
The humor in episode 1 comes from awkward timing: a gym joke, a shared hallway and a father who thinks everything is under control. Skye lays out what Kyle may do in her house, and it is mostly watching.
The household
Kyle, Skye and her best friend are all adults. Skye is his stepmother through her marriage to his father: a tie by marriage, and not by blood. They are Candy characters.
Skye is the one setting terms, which makes the premise work. Her best friend arrives as the wildcard.
